Food Friday

Every Friday I will be posting a kid-friendly recipe. I will have tried every recipe before I post it and include my thoughts on it. If you have a good recipe you would like me to know about, either comment on a Food Friday post, or e-mail me at kidskornerblog@yahoo.com.

Polar Pops

What you need:
Strawberry Shortcake Roll
Bamboo Skewer
Cookie Sheet

What you do:
1) Cut up the Strawberry Shortcake Roll into three equal pieces
2) Poke a bamboo skewer through the pieces
3) Freeze on a cookie sheet for two hours

Notes:
I found that the Strawberry Shortcake pieces fell apart when I tried to poke a skewer through them. It works just as well if you cut them up and lay them on the cookie sheet without putting skewers through them. You can even just freeze them whole if you want.

If you made Polar Pops, let me know how it went by either leaving a comment on this post or e-mailing me at kidskornerblog@yahoo.com!

Wally the Walking Fish Meets Madison and Cooper Review and Giveaway

Wally the Walking Fish Meets Madison and Cooper

Author: Gary Lamit

ISBN: 978-1-4392-1773-3

Pages: 28

While fishing one day, Madison and her dog Cooper meet a very special fish named Wally. Wally is a walking fish. The three quickly become friends and have lots of fun together. They go swimming, meet Betty the beaver, play in the sand, sing, and other fun stuff! When Wally tells Madison that his fins hurt when he walks too much, Madison makes him a pair of yellow boots! This makes Wally very happy and lets him walk around a lot more. This book also includes a lot of factual information. In little boxes at the bottom of some of the pages it tells you about Yellow Labradors (the kind of dog Cooper is), walking catfish, beavers, mushrooms, and more! Children will love the colorful illustrations and the fun story!
